Rose,
Of all the reports I've read from your fellow Iraqis
about voting, I'm most happy to read yours, since you seemed so doubtful about participating. But I'm glad you did and I'm sure, you're glad you did too. It's not often often one can be involved in such a historical eevent. So, congratulations to you
and a happy freedom day.

You and all of your country have shown the rest of the world what real courage is. I stayed up last night watching the news, watching the people come to vote. The nervous anticipation I felt was enormous. I cannot imagine how you must have felt.

I will remember your courage forever; remember, nothing is impossible if you want it badly enough.

God bless Iraq, and it's people. God bless your new government. And God bless you, for standing up.

A nation full of such brave, noble people surely must have a bright future. Today Iraqis made it known that the future is in their hands.

Bless you all.

I haven't stopped by in a while - my fault. And I have to return to some serious reading in a minute.

I just wanted to stop by to congratulate you and your country.

There will be much more to do for Iraq, it will be hard and it'll take a long while to do, but I'm confident the Iraqi people will continue to rise to the challenge.

Rose, you are learning 1st hand lessons about freedom and liberty that many Americans - our soldiers and immigrants excluded - have forgotten for generations. As a descendant of Jefferson, Patrick Henry and Madison, and all our nation's forefathers, I envy you.

From this progressive liberal non-religious US Army veteran Taiwanese 1st generation native-born American at Columbia University, New York City, NY, USA ... Contratulations to Rose and to all Iraqis who voted today.

Someday, I hope to visit Iraq as an American guest and feel the same pride and satisfaction as when I served in the Republic of Korea.

Congratulations on your courageous decision. The news reports about high voter turnout there suggest a lot of other Iraqis made the same courageous decision and voted - which is important because if moderate people like you don't vote, the election is left in the hands of the extremists. I was very happy and relieved to hear that the violence was not as bad as people thought it would be and that many people made it to the polls.

Just think, in another 30 or 40 years, you will probably be showing your grandchildren that picture of your ink-stained hand and telling them about what you did today.

Shawn.

I give thanks to God for your courage and your hope for a better future for you, your family and the people of Iraq. I am a Christian pastor in Hawaii. All the people in Iraq are in my heart today: Shi'ite, Sunni, Christian, Arab, Kurd, Persian. I have stained my own right index finger purple to remind me of what has been accomplished today. Salaam.

Way to go Rose!!

In Hebrew we say "Kol Hakavod"- meaning "All of the Honor to You!!" I wrote you a few weeks ago begging you to vote for your family and your children. Now you can tell them in 20 years that you were one of the first patriots to declare independence and true freedom for the new democratic Iraq!! You should know there are millions of people around the world praying and hoping and acting to help you! You are not alone, not just the millions of Iraqis, but tens of millions of Americans and Italians and Australians and English. The FREE WORLD salutes your bravery!

Dear Rose,

With great humility, I send you congratulations.

Many people here in America do not vote, which always makes me sad.

But it was very inspiring to see all the pictures of Iraqis braving the threat of terrorist violence in order to take control of their own destiny.

I am so happy for you.

My best.
