Bad Mood
I will not make a comment on your comments, It seems as we will go into an infinite loop to me. You believe in your news and I believe in what I see and live through. Any way this is my point of view and I respect all your points of views. but please some of you should write with a little respect with no need to use rude words.
To John from NZ I agree with Abu khaleel completely, he is a very good writer. Thank you for giving me his address.
if any one of you is interested, this is the address to his blog:

I had a terrible day yesterday, one of my husband’s best friends was sick and yesterday discovered he had cancer in second stage, he is only 29 years and his wife is pregnant with their first child. A main problem is in medication, you can’t be sure to have your full doze in our hospitals, today there is a medication but tomorrow may be not, beside most of the good doctors left Iraq. he is thinking of leaving Iraq for therapy, he had only Jordan to go to, since only Jordan accept Iraqis without visa and most of our doctors are working their now. He is trying to go to London, his uncle is living there but he is not sure if they will give him visa or not, and if they give him they will not give his wife and he will have to travel alone.
I was so worried about him, I did not sleep even for a minute, thinking about him and his wife and the coming child, can he make it? or not. I was thinking if he get his cancer because of the weapons used or not? is it the cause of his illness or something else. I heard many new weapons have been used in this war for the first time, maybe we are the experimental fields for those weapons.
After Desert Storm, cancer increased very much in Iraq especially in the south because most of the battles were in the south. now things are more complicated, we have been in a battle for more than a year and I wonder how much chances we have to stay alive? we have many chances to die but how many to stay alive?
I remember after the second gulf war, we did not buy some vegetables that was planted in the south for a while, there were rumors that those vegetables were subjected to radioactive materials that came from the weapons used in the Gulf war, we were not sure, but we did not buy them, now if we did not buy vegetables we will not be able to eat anything.
I hope this war will stop to bring us sorrows, and side effects. We want to have little fun for a change. And don’t tell me to be patient, I’ve been patient for the last 24 years and I don’t know if I or my beloved family will make it till freedom or die before it. I have a very bad mood but I want to write, this makes me feel a little relaxed and just like I’m speaking with someone (may be hundreds!) and open my heart to you.
Thank you for listening.

Hi Rose. I am sorry to hear about your friend. A friend of mine - his nephew died from cancer at 23. It makes no sense and I have said a prayer for him, his wife and their baby on the way. I hope that he can get treatment.
I do know that the Gulf War I vets are having health problems and I think it was exposure to chemical weapons that Saddam Hussein used. I don't know if you remember (I'm sure you do) but we were using those patriot missiles to try to shoot the 'scuds' out of the sky before they hit our troop encampents in Kuwait. It didn't work very well and now we have many men and women with lots of health problems.
Can't say anything for comfort - only hang in there. That's all you can do in times like this.
When I read about your husbands's friend, my first thought was, well, at least she can't blame this one on the Americans. Then I read the rest of the post.
"After Desert Storm, cancer increased very much in Iraq especially in the south because most of the battles were in the south."
one wonders what your source for these nuggets of information. maybe that clown who was minister of information or whatever and kept denying the yanks had tanks in bagdad.
ditto : "I was thinking if he get his cancer because of the weapons used or not? I heard many new weapons have been used in this war for the first time, maybe we are the experimental fields for those weapons."
i am afraid you have to accept that these rumours are part and parcel of your society's dysfunctionalism. a well known (right wing) journalism called mark steyn travelled around the middle east and found intelligent professional people believing as fact things like mossad flew the planes into the twin towers or that the twin towers had not been destroyed, it was all done with smoke and mirrors to get people to hate arabs or that sadam hussien was a cia agent, etc, etc. his considered opinion was that most of the residents of the middle east were deranged. (we now hear the rumour that israel poisoned arafat. i am sure this will be accepted as fact before long).
you sound as if you are suffering from clinical depression, which is understandable. can you get suitable medication? one can buy stuff on the net, but i don't know if you have credit cards or courier services operating in iraq.
take it a day at a time, rose. it'll come good.
rudolf
You are very welcome, anytime.

I heard recently that the Gulf War Syndrome (in troops from the first war) may actually be caused by something in the anthrax vaccine. This is not to say that the US did it on purpose to the troops. Whatever the cause, Gulf War Syndrome is real.
And so is increased cancer and birth defects in southern Iraq in the 1990's. It could be DU, and it could be some other environmental pollution, it could be due to increased stress.
My dad died of colon cancer in 1977. Just a couple of months ago, I had a vivid dream that it was something he was exposed to in the military in the Philippines in the early 1950's that caused it. Who knows??
Rose, I am sorry that your friend is so sick, and I am sorry that Iraq is in such a mess. It is this very outcome that inspired me to work to stop this war. I knew Saddam was a bad guy, I knew that the US military could crush anyone, I knew that Iraq had no WMDs nor was a threat to anyone. I am certain that this war was fought for the same reasons as any war: for power and control of people and resources so a very few could get very rich. And like all wars, the outcome would be a big pile of dead bodies, mostly innocent civilians. Today, Bush is claiming that he wants to bring "freedom and democracy" to Iraqis.... except that if the Iraqis tell the US to leave, that will not happen. How can Iraq have freedom if they cannot control who is on thier land?
All wars start with lies, always. And the ones who start the war are committing evil.
I'm sorry for your friend Rose! I just don't understand why everything gets blamed on the U.S. I'm still trying to figure out the WMD issue. Seems to me that anybody that kills as many people as Sadamm did with his gassing incident in the north certainly HAS and WILL use them. How can they say there was no WMD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
well diogenes of pumpkintown, you sure are are a cynic.
we don't have internet, radio or newspapers here where i'm writing from so i've never heard of depleted uranium.
i was just asking the wretched rose what was her source of info. i mean, sadam murdered so many hundreds of thousands of iraqis in southern iraq i was surprised that he might sponsor a report on the number of survivors who had died of cancer. and i would be surprised if he let others from outside iraq perform the task. he was so, how shall i say, independently minded.
but maybe he did and so i look forward to you pumpkintown people to wise me up.
kindest regards,
whoever
last time i scrolled back to see what name i'd posted under i lost my post.
Rose,
I am so sorry to hear of your friend and him being sick, I pray that he can get the help he needs. I can understand your pain , I am the youth director at my church and one of my kids has cancer and isn't expected to make it. He is only 16 years old and his life is just starting. I see him in class and I know that one of these days he isn't going to be there. It's just frightening. Rose I thank you so much for your honesty and it is so nice to listen to you and be able to put a real face with real emotions with what is happening there. You say whatever you feel on here and we will listen. Some of us will agree, Some of us will not. It doesn't make either one of us right or wrong it just makes us who we are.
Prayers and Love,
RedHead in Colorado
Hey, I know a redhead from Colorado, who just got married in Washington a couple months ago.
Anyway, other than noting that little coincidence, I just thought I'd add my warm wishes to Rose and urge her not to be put off by the grouchy types who have no patience for anything but Fox News. There's a lot of room for bloggers between Fox and al Jazeera. ;-)
maybe some of you did not understand what I’m writing, I don’t have anything with the Americans I respect them all and I have many American friends. I’m against American policy and there is a great difference. When I decided to make this blog I wanted to show the people what wars are doing to us. I’m against wars in any way and in any place of the planet and I want to show that there is harm more than there is benefit in wars. For me I think there are many ways to spread peace and love in the world without the need to shed blood. Maybe some of you will try to mock me by asking how. I’m sure there are people specialist in policy much better than me, and please if my writings bother you that much, stop reading them.
hey, rose, i'm surprised you have so many american friends. where did you meet them? were they living in iraq before the war? tell.
and diogenes. i figured your nom de plume betrayed a classic education. i was wrong. diogenes was the numero uno cynic philosopher. it was he, who when asked by alexander the great what he could for him, replied, stand from between me and the sun, ie, you're interrupting my rays. where were you brought up diogenes of pumpkinland, south island, new zealand?
diogenes, i don't have access to internet. i use my electric toaster which i've wired up to a tv set. i stripped a bit of code from an old version of microsoft explorer, grafted it onto some serviceable unix and relay it via the toaster to a friend who has a computer. he calls me when he thinks i need to reply to any postings. seems to work.
rose, it's a bit early to say what benefit this war will bring. in world war one it took two years to cover a few miles of progress through trenches. and cost over two million dead. just to move kitchener's drinks cabinet a few hundred yards closer to berlin. well, perhaps there was more to it than that.
the thing is, rose, that in the west we keep seeing muslims on tv saying things like "you attack one muslim country it is like an attack against all muslims". one for all, all for one. well, that's fair enough. we take the corollary: an attack by one bunch of muslims is an attack by all muslims. so if muslims fly aircraft into our buildings we reserve the right to hammer muslims where we see fit. one for all, etc.
even though the usa and uk would like out of your godforsaken country we cannot leave now, else those who have sided with us would be murdered. so we have to stay for the time being.
hello rose,
well rose, there you have it from sue - the suggestion that if the reponse on your "comments" page causes you distress then "delete it if necessary". sweep it under the carpet. i am not quite sure how this will relieve your distress at having read it, but it's a good fascist suggestion on how to deal with it. in the new iraq you must shun fascists. they cause nothing but problems.
personally i cannot see what "stupidly evil" was said by
the anonymous poster beforehand. "demented trash." diogenes, these are stong words, not those normally used by a philosopher such as whose name you assume.
"i fly boeing 757 into western architectural icon and kill several thousand people because i am muslim and you are kafir".
so far so good.
"i fly b52 and rubble your cities because....well...that's the way it's gonna be, if your terrorists do as described above. c'est life, as they say in france.
here's wishing you the best, rose.
